Suzy Kolber was born Suzanne Lisa Kolber in Philadelphia Pennsylvania on the 14th of May 1964 to an Jewish Family. She is currently 58. Sandra Kolber is her mother and Gene Kolber is her father. Her school was Sandy Run Middle School Dresher Pennsylvania. It was the University of Miami awarded her an Associate of Arts (telecommunications) degree in the year 1986. In her first year of college she was offered the position as a sports director at Dynamic in Coral Gables Florida. In addition, she worked there for two years, from 1984 to 1986. Additionally, she was a part of the University of Miami water skiing team at the time. Plaza started her career in Wilmington doing local theater, performing in Improv and also acting in productions. When she graduated of the high school she moved into New York City. There she took classes in improv as well as film making at Tisch School of the Arts of New York University. When she was 20 years old, she had an injury to her brain that resulted in an acute expressive aphasia (a deficiency in the expression and comprehension of language).
